Drug Courts are for offenders who are willing to make a real effort to do something about their substance abuse and change their offending behaviour. These specialist Courts are for offenders who plead guilty, acknowledge their substance abuse – and will commit to treatment and rehabilitation. The offender’s participation in the treatment program will be supervised by a judicial officer from the Court, and his or her commitment to the program will be carefully monitored.
