Perth Inner City Youth Service (PICYS)

Perth Inner City Youth Service (PICYS) is a community based youth service located at 22 Blencowe St West Leederville and provides two (2) separate programs for Youth aged 15-25yrs. PICYS was established in 1980, and has a history that is hallmarked by collaborative efforts staff and young people and those close to them.

Our Vision for Young People is that they will have the oporuinity to make positive choices in their lives and realise their won potential”

Our MISSION –“PICYS is committed to working with Young People in a non-judgemental and holistic way which fosters a belief in empowerment, integrity and collaboration, and which provides a safe and secure environment.”

PICYS is a organisations that works to improve the quality of life of Young People and their communities affected by homelessness which has been affected by alcohol or other drugs, mental health issues risk of self harm, diverse sexuality ,suicidal ideation, expiring anxiety or depressive symptoms. .

PICYS is an independent, incorporated body not-for-profit association.

Services provided

• Household Network (HHN) – provides medium to long term externally supported accommodation in the West Leederville/West Perth area.
• PILLAR – is an outreach program that supports Young People who are experiencing Mental Health issues, added with added risk factors.

Target Groups

• HHN – 16-25 yrs
• PILLAR- 15-20yrs

Entry Requirements

HHN

• Homeless or at Risk of Homeless,
• Current Drug and/or alcohol issues,
• Mental Health issues,
• Diverse sexuality,
• Mental Health Issues

PILLAR – Diagnosed or experiencing a Mental Illness

• At risk of self harm,
• Suicidal ideation or attempts,
• Experiencing anxiety or depressive symptoms,
• Having difficulty maintaining relationships,
• Misusing alcohol and/or other drugs,
• At risk of homelessness or currently transient
• Residing in Perth Metro area.
