The sobering up centres in WA are funded by the Mental Health Commission (MHC) and run by local community organisations. The prime purpose of these centres is to provide a safe, care oriented environment in which persons found intoxicated in public may sober up, reducing the likelihood of them causing further harm to themselves or others in the community.
